War Heroes on Water presented by loanDepot, the world's largest nonprofit sportfishing tournament for veterans, announced the 2026 dates: September 25-29 off the Southern California coast. The ninth annual event builds on last year’s momentum, when more than 60 yachts were donated and over 50 sportfishing vessels competed. The tournament welcomed 125 combat-wounded veterans, including 54 Purple Hearts, and gathered hundreds of donors and sponsors supporting ongoing therapeutic services. WHOW founder Anthony Hsieh said the event creates a lasting network that helps veterans heal and reconnect beyond the three-day on-water component. Since launching in 2018, WHOW and its partners have directly served 675 veterans on the water, and Freedom Alliance has raised over $8 million to fund scholarships and services for thousands more.
