OCTROT heated blankets and throws recalled after multiple fires and injuries
xCruzo Brief
About 178,000 OCTROT heated blankets and throws are being recalled due to fire and shock hazards, federal safety regulators said. The cord on the products can detach and ignite, creating what the Consumer Product Safety Commission described as a risk of serious injury or death from fire, burn, and shock hazards. The manufacturer received 555 customer reports of the items melting, sparking, and smoking, which led to 27 fires and 15 injuries related to burns or electrical shock. Made in China, the blankets and throws were sold on Amazon.com from August 2021 through December 2025 for $40 to $60. Customers are told to stop using them and contact OCTROT for a full refund; recall number 26-652.
