Pair revert to Patriots' injured reserve after cut to 53

The New England Patriots reverted defensive tackle Isaiah Iton and safety Eric Butler to injured reserve after both were waived with injury designations and cleared waivers. The moves became official at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, following their exposure to the NFL waiver wire before Sunday’s 6 p.m. ET deadline for the 53-man roster. Provided there are no later injury settlements, the IR reversions will end their 2026 seasons on the final afternoon of August. Iton, 25, rejoined New England in July after not receiving an exclusive rights tender in March. Butler, 23, joined after a week into August following a training-camp workout.
