Pen: Our democracy is at risk

Marine Le Pen said France’s democracy is at risk after violence erupted during anti-government protests. Speaking in a pre-recorded video released Sunday, the National Rally leader accused both the Left and President Emmanuel Macron of fueling unrest. Le Pen urged calm and “republican restraint,” saying people at home watched Saturday’s clashes “with dismay.” Police arrested more than 2,000 people across France after violent groups looted and set fire to public buildings. One protester died in Paris after a cardiac arrest during demonstrations. Macron is set to address the nation at 7pm UK time following meetings with senior officials.
