Phillies' Andrew Painter: Will pitch Friday for Phillies - CBS Sports

The Phillies plan to recall right-hander Andrew Painter from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to pitch Friday in Baltimore, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. It’s unclear whether he’ll make a traditional start or be used in another role, but the 23-year-old will get another chance in the majors. Painter was sent to Triple-A in mid-June after posting a 7.06 ERA over 65 innings for Philadelphia. Since then, he has pitched well in four of five outings with Lehigh Valley, allowing three runs with a 14:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 11 innings in his last two starts.
