Pictures: Fan zone packed out ahead of World Cup's biggest match yet
Fan activity is surging ahead of what is described as the World Cup’s biggest match yet, with Brighton’s seafront fan zone packed for England’s semi-final against Argentina. Supporters arrived early in the Central Park fan zone near Brighton Marina, created to host thousands for England’s fixtures during the tournament, and aerial images show the area filled. Across Sussex, pubs are also crowded, and fans’ singing is audible from the city center. The report places England in the last four after beating Norway 2-1 in extra time, with Jude Bellingham scoring both goals, sending Thomas Tuchel’s side through in Miami. England opened with a 4-2 win over Croatia, then drew Ghana 0-0 and advanced with a comeback versus DR Congo and a 3-2 win over Mexico. The England-Argentina match is in Atlanta on 15 July, kick-off 8pm BST.
