Project Healing Waters Charles County
A $6,972 fiscal 2027 grant from the Charles County Charitable Trust will support Project Healing Waters’ free fly-fishing program for injured and disabled veterans in Charles County, Maryland. The nonprofit says fly fishing and outdoor instruction help participants build skills, form friendships and find support through hands-on classes throughout the year. Programs include fly-fishing classes, casting lessons, fly tying and rod building, with equipment and instruction provided at no cost for eligible veterans. Project Healing Waters also runs a local La Plata program that meets at the Waldorf Moose Lodge in White Plains. Interested veterans can join without prior experience by contacting program lead Larry Braswell or using the organization’s website for details.
