Recall alert: 195K heated blankets, pads sold on Amazon recalled due to burn, fire risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for 195,000 JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon due to burn and fire risks. The CPSC said the internal wire heating elements can overheat. Affected products include specific models—JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, JKMAX-8490B and JKMAX-6284B—identified by model numbers on the back of the remote and a label on the packaging. Sales ran on Amazon from September 2022 to July 2026 in colors including blue, gray, brown and red. The agency reported 577 incidents involving smoking, melting or burning, leading to 53 burn injuries. Purchasers are advised to contact JKMax for a refund.
