Salem expecting especially large crowds for Halloween night
Salem, Massachusetts, expects especially large crowds for Halloween night as the city celebrates the Witch City’s 400th anniversary. Officials released updated resources, including a map and planned road closures and safety measures for Oct. 31, urging visitors to plan ahead, use public transportation, and follow city rules. Mayor Dominick Pangallo said visitor trends in October point to a higher-than-usual turnout and extended a welcome to guests from the region and around the world. Saturday’s events include activities across multiple locations, while the headline attraction is a drone show at 10:10 p.m. over the North River. The city warns against public drinking, littering, and vandalism, notes that some violations may carry triple fines, and says streets will be cleared after 10:30 p.m.
