Samsung is reportedly testing two extra-wide foldables for 2027, after the Galaxy Z Fold 8 reportedly sold better than expected. A tipster, Lanzuk, citing a display supplier, says Samsung is considering either a larger “Galaxy Z Fold 9 Wide Plus” or a cheaper “Galaxy Z Fold 9 Wide FE,” while launching only one of the two alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 9. The Fold 8 is already getting a discount: Samsung.com lists the 256GB model for $1,699.99, a $200 reduction, plus a $200 accessory credit. The report also references iPhone Duo demand issues tied to screen problems and long waits. Sales figures cited include 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea for the Fold 8 series, with the standard model at about 70%.
