Specialist ship to join search for missing fishermen and boat

A specialist ship is being brought in to help search for two missing fishermen and their boat off the coast of Lewis. Police Scotland said Norman “Tam” Murray, 40, and Murdo Morrison, 23, were aboard the Kilda when it disappeared on 13 October. A crewmate, Douglas Craigie, 49, was found dead in the sea in the early hours of 14 October. The Northern Lighthouse Board vessel NLV Pharos is being deployed because it carries hydrographic and wreck survey equipment. Items from the fishing boat were recovered during last week’s search, and the operation will continue with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, coastguard and maritime experts.
