Sean Davis talks nutmegging Seedorf & Portsmouth's European adventure

Sean Davis looks back on Portsmouth’s short-lived Premier League period and the club’s first European campaign, as he discusses his time at Fratton Park. Joining from Tottenham in January 2006, Davis points to team spirit and talent among the squad as key to the FA Cup win and the club’s rise. Portsmouth reached the FA Cup final in 2010 and had earlier claimed the trophy in 2008-09, which included a 1-0 win over Cardiff City at Wembley and their UEFA Cup return. To reach the group stage, Portsmouth overcame Vitoria Guimaraes over two legs: a 2-0 win at home with goals from Lassana Diarra and Jermain Defoe, followed by Peter Crouch’s late goals after the deficit returned in extra time.
