Section of Skagit River opening to sockeye fishing

A section of the Skagit River will open to sockeye fishing from the Division Street Bridge in Mount Vernon to the Dalles Bridge in Concrete, seven days a week, with periodic closures to prevent conflicts during tribal fisheries. The first expected closure will be June 25-26. The fishery allows a daily limit of four sockeye with a minimum size of 12 inches; all other salmon must be released. A valid license is required, and the Baker Lake sockeye season is tentatively set for July 11 through August 31. Anglers are urged to cooperate with creel staff and monitor for emergency rules.
