Silvio Berlusconi's family sell famed 'bunga bunga' party palace to Qatari sheikh
Silvio Berlusconi's family sell famed 'bunga bunga' party palace to Qatari sheikh reports that the heirs of late Italian media tycoon Silvio Berlusconi have agreed to sell Villa Certosa, his famed Sardinian retreat. A source says the buyer is a company linked to Qatar’s ruling family, with Constellation Hotels Holding Ltd owned/linked to Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani. Local media reported a price of about €350 million (US$395 million) for the Costa Smeralda estate. Fininvest, Berlusconi’s family holding company, confirmed that one of its companies accepted a binding offer for the sale, without further details. The property spans roughly 120 hectares and includes around 126 rooms, pools, an amphitheatre, extensive cactus collections, a mock volcano, and a James Bond-style underground grotto for small boats. The deal follows efforts by Berlusconi’s five children to rationalize parts of his portfolio after his 2023 death.
