Skipton's knitted sheep trail to fund accessible canal trips
xCruzo Brief
Skipton’s “Sheep Trail” is combining crafts and community giving, with 20 knitted sheep displayed around town to raise money for accessible canal trips. Mayor Winston Feather visited Richard’s Endeavour, an accessible wide-beam canal boat operated by the charity Spirit of Endeavour, as part of the Skipton Sheep Trail. He was joined by two of the woolly sheep, Ralph and Winston, named for him. The sheep will be auctioned online until September 28, with proceeds supporting more inclusive canal experiences for people facing mobility barriers. Spirit of Endeavour marks 37 years of community canal trips and runs about 120 recreational and therapeutic trips each season.
