Spanish ship docks in Great Yarmouth port
xCruzo Brief
A replica of a 16th-century Spanish ship that completed the first circumnavigation of the world has docked at Great Yarmouth. Built in Spain in 1991, the vessel is based on the Nao Victoria, captained by Juan Sebastián Elcano, which left Seville in 1519 to sail around the globe. Great Yarmouth has welcomed two other replica Spanish ships in recent years. Conservative borough councillor James Bensly called the arrival “a stunning spectacle,” highlighting the event’s appeal for visitors. The ship will remain at the Norfolk port until 9 August.
