State sports briefs reports that the Southwestern Athletic Conference released its preseason all-league teams on Wednesday, naming five University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff players. Running back Jaylen Jennings, linebacker Danarius Hilliard, and wide receiver D’Avery Robinson earned first-team selections, while Nick Carter and Marquis Cagle were named to the second team. Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body was chosen preseason offensive player of the year after nearly 2,300 yards of offense and 24 touchdowns last season, and Jackson State defensive back Kam Sallis was selected defensive player of the year after intercepting two passes in 2025. UAPB’s five picks were three more than the team had last fall. The same briefs section also covered ASCS national tour events in Arkansas, including Friday at Batesville Motor Speedway and Saturday’s Ralph Henson Memorial at Texarkana 67 Speedway, with gates at 5 p.m. and racing starting at 7 p.m.
