Sydney to host Super Netball grand final for first time

Sydney will host the Super Netball grand final for the first time in 18 years, with Netball Australia and the NSW government set to announce the 2027 decider on July 31 at Afterpay Arena, Sydney Olympic Park. The last home-team grand final for Sydney fans was in the 2008 ANZ Championship, when the NSW Swifts beat Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic 65–56. The state government expects around 8,000 spectators and more than $4 million for the economy. The same venue will host the Netball World Cup the following month, targeting 200,000 attendees for Australia’s Diamonds as they defend their 2023 title. NSW Premier Chris Minns said netball investment would be expanded from grassroots facilities to major events.
