The Hopkins County Genealogical Society will hold a meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Government Center Fiscal Court Room, 56 N. Main Street, where History Department Chair Dr. James MacLeod will discuss 'Evansville's Role in World War II.' Attendees are welcome, and visitors are asked to use the north entrance.
A Two For One Saturday is planned for Saturday, June 27, at 10 a.m., with Susan Hughes of Franklin, Kentucky, presenting 'History of the Octagon House in Franklin' followed by a break and a second talk at 11 a.m. on 'The New Madrid Earthquake.' The Hopkins County B.A.S.S. Club meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at Brothers BBQ, and membership is open to anyone with a fishing boat or who can partner with someone who has one. The Hopkins County Regional Senior Citizens Center hosts a history class the first Monday of each month at 10 a.m. on N. Main St.; the class is free and there are no tests.
