Trace of missing fishing boat found in search off Lewis

A trace linked to the missing fishing boat Kilda has been found at two sites off the north of the Isle of Lewis, where experts said further investigation was needed. The vessel, with three men aboard, disappeared on 13 October. The following day, search teams found the body of crew member Douglas Craigie, but Norman Murray and Murdo Morrison remain unaccounted for. The Northern Lighthouse Board vessel NLV Pharos identified the locations and they were investigated by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB), with help from Mowi. A maritime exclusion zone has been lifted, while the MAIB’s preliminary assessment continues.
