Two South Korean-operated vessels passed through Strait of Hormuz after MOU signed
Two vessels operated by South Korea passed through the Strait of Hormuz after the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on a ceasefire agreement last week, according to Seoul’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The ministry said on Monday that the ships are sailing normally, but have not yet fully exited a designated high-risk zone. It declined to provide further details on the vessels’ identities or routes. The ships reportedly do not have South Korean crew on board and are not bound for South Korea. In parallel, the ministry said a total of 22 South Korean-operated ships remain stranded in the strait. The report places the development in late June, following the ceasefire-linked agreement between Washington and Tehran.
