Vietnam arrests speedboat captain after deadly capsize that killed 15 Indian nationals. Vietnamese police arrested the 57-year-old captain of a speedboat that capsized near Phu Quoc island in southern Vietnam, killing 15 Indian tourists, authorities said. The incident occurred Saturday as a boat carrying 32 Indian passengers, three Vietnamese crew members, and a tour guide overturned in rough seas off May Rut Ngoai islet. Sailors and rescuers recovered 21 people, according to state media, while the captain was detained for alleged violations of laws resulting in the capsize. Initial assessments suggested it was unavoidable due to rapidly shifting extreme weather. Survivors were discharged from hospital by Sunday and began traveling back to India, with one person reported in critical condition in Phu Quoc. Bodies of the deceased were to be transported to India.
