India A completed a major turnaround by winning the Tri-Nation A Series, beating Sri Lanka A by 66 runs in the final at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday. After losing two of their first three league matches, India A produced their most complete performance in the decisive game. The total was set in the first innings by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who struck 94 off 29 balls to drive India A to 377/9. Captain Tilak Varma added 67 to cement the platform. Sooryavanshi’s fifty came in 11 deliveries, the fastest in List A cricket history, before he fell six runs short of a century. In Sri Lanka A’s chase of 378, Yash Thakur removed the hosts’ top three early, while Wanuja Sahan (62) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (52) kept the innings respectable. Vipraj Nigam took 3/60 to dismiss Sri Lanka A for 311 in 47.1 overs, sealing the title.
