Zelensky seeks more European air defence support for Ukraine at Paris meeting
Zelensky seeks more European air defence support for Ukraine at Paris meeting focuses on Ukraine’s push for expanded anti-ballistic systems amid ongoing Russian missile strikes. President Volodymyr Zelensky asked European leaders for help against ballistic missiles that have hit Ukraine’s power grid for more than four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion. Arriving in Paris, he said anti-ballistic defence is his top priority and urged faster joint development with European partners before winter, when attacks typically intensify to disrupt electricity, heat, and water. Zelensky said Ukrainian officials would present an anti-ballistic programme and meet government leaders, national security advisers, and defense companies. He also plans to meet French President Emmanuel Macron and highlighted the Bastille Day parade role for the military. The meeting, tied to the “Coalition of the Willing,” was expected to include leaders from over 30 supporting countries. Russian officials criticized the effort, while Ukraine cited drone advantages and reported striking 105 Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov between July 6 and 13.
