Antonelli faces Monumental challenge at new Madring circuit

Kimi Antonelli arrives in Spain this weekend facing a new test at the debuting Madring circuit in Madrid, with a signature “La Monumental” banked 270-degree high-speed curve that is 550 meters long. The Italian, fresh from winning his home race at Monza for the first time since 1966, must adapt quickly because the last new circuit added to the calendar was Las Vegas three years ago. Mercedes, winners of nine of the first 13 races, expect to be in contention, but the track’s unknowns—drivers only having simulator data—could tighten the order. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says it should be close to Budapest or Zandvoort.
