AVILOO Launches UK Used EV Battery Warranty

AVILOO has launched a used EV battery warranty in the UK, targeting uncertainty around battery health for second- and later-ownership vehicles. Company CEO Marcus Berger said used EV buyers previously lacked an independent, objective way to verify battery durability and had limited financial recourse if the battery underperformed. The AVILOO Battery Warranty is presented as a contractual, insurance-backed product: if a battery degrades beyond a threshold calculated for the vehicle within 12 months or 20,000 km, the owner receives £2,700 in compensation. AVILOO described the warranty as tied to an AVILOO FLASH Test arranged by professional partners and issued automatically via AVILOO Connect. The Battery Warranty Basic is free for end customers, with paid upgrade tiers “plus” and “premium” planned later. AVILOO said its warranty transfers to new owners and is offered through dealers, fleet operators, auction platforms, and remarketing companies as UK demand grows from early mass adoption waves.
