BART train hits person on tracks at Walnut Creek station
A BART train struck a person on the tracks at the Walnut Creek station on Monday morning, prompting delays and a temporary station closure. The incident was first reported at about 10:30 a.m., when, a BART spokesperson said, a person entered the trackway for an unknown reason as a train approached and a collision may have occurred. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District later confirmed that the person was hit, and BART spokesperson Michelle Robertson said the injured person was taken to a hospital. BART reported major delays on the Yellow Line in both directions toward Antioch and San Francisco International Airport.
