MotoGP bans front holeshot devices immediately, tweaks grid layout from German GP: the series has outlawed front holeshot devices effective immediately and will also adjust race-start spacing for the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring next month. MotoGP previously tested the concept during practice at the Czech GP, with rider opinions split, before choosing to remove the front device for the next event. The move means only rear holeshot devices will be used from this weekend’s Dutch GP for the rest of the season. The front device raised concerns because riders needed hard braking to disengage it at the first corner and because it was seen as an expensive development without improving racing. For the German GP, grid spacing increases from three meters to four meters between riders, and row spacing expands from nine to 12 meters, with three riders per row remaining. Separately, MotoGP’s Grand Prix Commission set a limit of six riders per manufacturer from 2028, following a Concorde Agreement covering 2025–2030 and affecting how teams are supplied. Ducati currently supplies three teams under that structure.
