BMW Z4 Makes A Brief Return With More Power And An Astronomical Price
xCruzo Brief
BMW’s Z4 is effectively gone after production ended, but a limited follow-up is returning with a major twist. Bovensiepen Automobile has modified the Z4 M40i into the Bovensiepen Spider, based on the Magna Steyr-built roadster assembled in Graz alongside the Toyota Supra. Limited to just 99 units, the Spider uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six tuned to 435 hp and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm), up from the standard M40i by 53 hp and 59 lb-ft. With the Performance Package, it claims a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 4.2 seconds and an 183-mph top speed. Pricing starts at €115,500 ($134,000) in Germany, with deliveries due in Q1 next year.
