British Grand Prix: Fionn McLaughlin scores first points in Formula 3
Fionn McLaughlin scored his first Formula 3 points in the sprint race at Silverstone, marking a breakthrough for the Red Bull Junior driver in his debut season. The teenager from Northern Ireland finished ninth, collecting the first two points of the campaign. His step up to Formula 3 follows a British F4 title win last year. The sprint race victory went to American driver Ugo Ugochukwu, ahead of Yevan David and Theophile Nael. For the feature race, McLaughlin is set to start sixth at 08:25 BST on Sunday, while British driver Freddie Slater will take pole. In Formula 2, title challenger Alex Dunne also finished ninth in the sprint, and Nikola Tsolov won his fifth race of the season. Dunne will start second for the feature race at 11:15 BST.
