Brothers steal £62k of Pokemon cards
Two brothers, Shane Johnson, 37, and Keith Johnson, 33, have been convicted after stealing more than £62,000 worth of Pokémon cards from a gaming shop in Warrington, Cheshire. Cheshire Constabulary said the pair used a crowbar to smash into Celestial Collectables on April 8, shattering display cases and taking high-value items including trading cards, slabs, packs, and booster boxes. Co-owner Chris Grundy, 30, said the four-minute raid left the store “destroyed,” with damage exceeding £3,000. CCTV footage linked the burglary to a white Ford Transit van that traveled from Birmingham to Warrington and was later found with stolen cards and tools. The investigation also connected them to a second break-in at The Graded Gallery in Rugby, Warwickshire, on April 14, with total stolen stock and damage above £9,000. Both pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary; Keith received 29 months and Shane will be sentenced July 31.
