BYD is making public EV charging and parking a whole lot easier
BYD and Parkopedia announced ParkPay, an in-car parking service designed to simplify finding and paying for parking. The partnership will launch in Europe starting in 2027, using Parkopedia’s parking data and payment capabilities. Through Android Automotive OS with Google built in, drivers will be directed to the closest available parking spots and can view prices. BYD said the system will alert users in covered areas via messages on the infotainment screen and allow parking sessions to be paid by clicking the notification. Initially, ParkPay will focus on parking, but BYD plans to add EV charging, toll payments and reservations. The app will come pre-installed on new BYD vehicles, including the Denza Z9 GT and BYD Atto 3 Evo, with older models receiving the service via OTA updates. BYD also described FLASH Charging performance for its Blade Battery-equipped vehicles and stated the Denza Z9 GT starts at €115,000.
