Canton police release ID of motorcyclist killed in crash

In Canton, Stark County, police have identified Michael Greathouse II, 47, of Louisville, as the motorcyclist who died after a June 12 crash in the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue NW. Greathouse was northbound on a 1998 Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate the curve, causing the motorcycle to depart the roadway and strike a guardrail, which threw the rider from the motorcycle. Canton Police Chief John Gabbard said in a press release that responders were dispatched to the scene around 1:08 a.m. on the date of the crash. The driver’s identity was not immediately released in order to provide proper notifications to his family. The report notes the incident involved a single-vehicle crash on a quiet stretch of Cleveland Avenue NW early Sunday.
