CARFAX: 'Park Outside' Recalls Jump Nearly 50% Due to New Fire Risk to More than 3.2 Million Vehicles Nationwide

New CARFAX data shows Park Outside recalls jumped nearly 50% to more than 3.2 million vehicles nationwide, driven by Stellantis’ recall of over 1 million Jeeps and Gladiators from 2021-2025 due to an electrical connection issue in the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring that could overheat and ignite. Owners are urged to park affected vehicles outdoors away from structures until repairs are completed, with recall fixes provided at no cost. Top states by volume include Texas (302,000), California (300,000) and Florida (279,000). Stellantis says affected customers will be notified, and a solution is expected no later than July.
