Carjackers steal BMW off Midland driveway after attacking owner
A violent carjacking unfolded on a Midland driveway early Friday, when attackers assaulted the vehicle owner and stole his BMW before fleeing toward Stoke-on-Trent. Police say they were alerted at around 4:40am on Friday, June 12, to a property off Seabridge Lane in the Westlands area of Newcastle-under-Lyme, where the victim sustained minor facial injuries. The stolen BMW X6M was recovered about an hour later, abandoned on Cliffe Street in Smallthorne, to the north of Stoke-on-Trent. Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team led the response and are appealing for information from the public. The vehicle is a high-performance X6M model and a high-profile target.
The suspects are described as under 25, wearing black clothing, with one about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall. Investigations continue with door-to-door inquiries; residents are asked to report any suspicious activity around Seabridge Lane or Cliffe Street.
