Champaign County Crime Stoppers | Police seek woman who used counterfeit bills at Champaign Walmart
Champaign County Crime Stoppers is asking the public for help identifying a woman suspected of using counterfeit $100 bills at a Champaign Walmart last month. Police said the suspect entered the store at 2610 N. Prospect Ave. at 10:49 a.m. on July 20 with two children, gathered items worth nearly $500, and went to checkout. After an employee scanned the purchase and totaled the amount, the woman allegedly tried to pay with counterfeit bills. The employee left to verify with a supervisor, and the woman left with the children. Police later said she returned in a black SUV, retrieved a red Honda, and left again. The woman is described as a Black woman, 30–40, with tattoos and a black T-shirt with pink lettering; Crime Stoppers is seeking anyone with video.
