Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Marks the Return of the 350 and 400 V-8s

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is getting a major update, with a refreshed look and a reworked lineup of powertrains. Chevy says the truck keeps a familiar chassis but updates the front suspension with new upper mounts. The biggest shift is the return of two Gen-VI gasoline V-8 options, alongside an improved 2.7-liter Turbomax four-cylinder as the base engine. For diesel buyers, the 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six is returning as the only diesel choice in full-size, light-duty trucks on the market. Outside, new sheet metal adds more pronounced shoulders on the fenders and bedsides, with larger headlights framing new grilles.
