xCruzo Brief

Canada’s EV Affordability Program (EVAP) is driving standout sales for Chevrolet’s most affordable electric models. In August 2026, the Chevy Bolt and Chevy Equinox EV finished first and second in overall EVAP rebate claims. Buyers can receive up to C$5,000 once they meet eligibility rules, including a transaction price cap of C$50,000 before freight, delivery charges, and sales tax. If the vehicle is manufactured in Canada, there’s no cap; however, vehicles imported from countries without Canada free-trade agreements are excluded. Bolt (GM Fairfax, Kansas) and Equinox EV (GM Ramos Arizpe, Mexico) qualify under the cap. In August, 1,911 Bolt units and 1,212 Equinox EV units were rebated. Program funding is C$2.275 billion, with C$2B remaining as of Sept. 1, and it runs until March 31, 2031, or earlier if funds run out.
