Chevy's Pink Corvette Pace Car Pledges $500 Per Caution Lap to Fight Breast Cancer
Chevrolet will bring back its specially themed pink Corvette Stingray to pace the NASCAR Cup Series at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway in November. The pace car debuts on track at Talladega on Sunday, Oct. 25, then returns for the Sunday, Nov. 1 race at Martinsville, the penultimate event of The Chase. Chevrolet says the initiative is its 16th consecutive year working with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Donations come in two programs: $1,500 for each Team Chevy driver who finishes top 10 at five specified races (capped at $25,000), and $500 per caution lap led by the pink Corvette at Talladega and Martinsville (also capped at $25,000). Chevrolet’s top-line goal is visibility, not the bulk of funding.
