China is starting to measure EV charging times in seconds, not minutes
xCruzo Brief
Chinese EV makers are increasingly quoting charging performance in seconds rather than minutes, with several new battery announcements pushing ultra-fast top-ups. Lynk & Co’s new 10 series—using Geely’s “Golden Brick” battery—claims 10-70% charge in 4 minutes and 22 seconds. BYD’s “Blade 2.0” battery already targets 10-70% in 5 minutes, while the company has also cited 10-80% in 5-minute-class terms. CATL has shown an 8C commercial cell aiming for 20-80% in 6 minutes and 48 seconds, and a consumer light-duty cell at 10-80% in 3 minutes and 44 seconds. FAW Group says 10-70% in 3 minutes and 41 seconds.
