Coast Guard finds debris from medical plane carrying 6 people
The U.S. Coast Guard says searchers have located debris off Nantucket, Massachusetts, from a Canadian air ambulance that disappeared early Saturday while carrying six people traveling from Bermuda to Boston. The Gulfstream G100 had been transporting two Bermudans and four Canadians. Family members of those onboard have been notified, and the Coast Guard is continuing the search. Flight data indicated the jet dropped at least 9,000 feet over two minutes before leveling off for several more minutes, then went missing. The pilot declared an emergency, according to Nantucket Memorial Airport. The Coast Guard has deployed two search-and-rescue planes, a helicopter, and a motor lifeboat. The aircraft was operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, based in Ontario.
