Collectors sent rare Pokémon and sports cards to get graded. Then thieves stole nearly $1 million worth from the FedEx truck taking them home | Fortune

Thieves stole nearly $1 million worth of graded rare Pokémon and sports cards from a FedEx truck outside Professional Sports Authenticator’s (PSA) office in Santa Ana, California, on Oct. 13. The cards were headed home after authentication and grading, with some assigned perfect 10 grades. Police said about two pallets of cards were taken, while a third was disturbed, with the estimated value at the time of the incident set at $963,000. No arrests have been reported and the cards haven’t been recovered. PSA said it deactivated the stolen cards’ certificates and warned selling platforms to watch for them, paying affected owners based on fair market value up to each card’s insured maximum.
