Community Digest: June 22, 2026 compiles local events in Wyoming Valley and surrounding areas, spanning late June through mid-July. A public stitch-in hosted by the Wyoming Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America runs 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 27 at Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Wilkes-Barre Township. The Carnegie Medal Anthracite Monument dedication and unveiling takes place 1 p.m. the same day at the King’s College Alley Center and Miners Park in Public Square, honoring 40 Carnegie Medals for heroism in the anthracite coal industry of Northeastern Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, June 30, the Wyoming Valley Real Estate Investors Association meets at 6 p.m. at Grotto Pizza in Wilkes-Barre Township, with $15 visitors’ charges applied toward $85 yearly dues for new members. Later, the 24th Connecticut Militia reenactment runs July 11-12 at Nesbit Park in Kingston, including live battle scenarios and a range of camp activities. The Rotary Club of Dallas hosts a Wine and Brew Festival Saturday, June 27, from noon to 6 p.m. at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds, with tickets priced at $25 in advance or $35 at the gate, plus $5 designated-driver fees.
