COMMUNITY DIGEST: June 26, 2026

The Riverfront Parks Committee will present RiverFest, running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, with activities, entertainment, food and events for all ages. The program includes an environmental education tent, an encampment by the 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment, and a children’s scavenger hunt from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Preregistration is required for RiverFest river tours, which operate Friday June 26 from West Pittston to Nesbitt Park, Saturday June 27 from Harding to Nesbitt Park, and Sunday June 28 from Nesbitt Park to Hunlock Creek. Additional highlights include music, guided riparian forest nature hikes, and a Carnegie Medal monument dedication on June 27 at 1 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.
