Dacia's Answer To Cheap Chinese EVs Used To Be One. Now It's European
xCruzo Brief
Dacia is reworking the Spring in a bid to compete with cheap Chinese EVs by moving production from China to Slovenia. The second-generation all-new Spring starts at €17,900 in Italy, with the better-equipped Journey trim capped below €20,000. Built on a platform shared with the new Renault Twingo E-Tech, it uses a 27.5-kWh LFP battery and a single front motor delivering about 80 hp and 175 Nm. WLTP range is up to 250 km (155 miles). A larger body improves space, while optional 50-kW DC charging can take the battery from 15–80% in 28 minutes.
