DVSA 'reviewing situation' after huge recall of more than 4 million cars
xCruzo Brief
The UK’s DVSA says it is “reviewing” the situation after a large recall in China involving more than 4 million vehicles over “hidden” or flush door handles. DVSA confirmed there are no active recalls in the UK for Tesla vehicles at the moment, but said it is checking whether there is a problem locally. In China, the recall covers 2.98 million Tesla models plus vehicles from brands including Xpeng, Xiaomi and Leapmotor, after the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology decided the minimalist, pop-out handle design would be outlawed from January 1, 2027. Affected cars get an inside door warning label and a software update that lowers windows after a collision. DVSA urged motorists to check GOV.UK for active recalls.
