EchoPark provides stage for drama atop NASCAR Cup Series standings | Fulton Sun
EchoPark Speedway is set to host renewed drama at the top of the NASCAR Cup Series standings, after the standings shifted sharply over the past two weeks. Tyler Reddick lost the points lead to Denny Hamlin following setbacks at Sonoma and Chicagoland, while Hamlin capitalized with finishes that kept him in front. At Sonoma, Reddick and the 23XI Racing team suffered power steering issues, finished 36th, and fell six laps down; Hamlin finished 26th after a spin involving Carson Hocevar and took a one-point advantage. At Chicagoland, debris damaged Reddick when a splitter tore through Zane Smith’s No. 38 Ford, hitting Reddick’s No. 45 Toyota radiator and oil cooler; he finished 36th and dropped 44 points behind Hamlin. Tonight’s Quaker State 400 (6 p.m. CT, TNT) begins with Ryan Blaney winning pole at 179.912 mph and Hamlin starting 28th.
