England coach Thomas Tuchel has a recipe for handling World Cup stress. It includes ice cream
England coach Thomas Tuchel described using a simple routine to manage the stress of a World Cup run, ahead of England’s semifinal against Argentina. Speaking Tuesday, Tuchel said he relaxes by spending time reconnecting with his “inner child” through activities like riding a bike, finding a parking lot, and eating ice cream for about 15 minutes. He said the break, taken on a warm evening, helps him feel like he is “15 years old” and restores a sense of enjoyment that can carry him through matchday. Tuchel, hired in 2024 and tasked with leading England to its first trophy since 1966, is one win away from reaching only the team’s second World Cup final. England will play Argentina in Atlanta on Wednesday, with Tuchel acknowledging the draining travel and altitude challenges. He also said he does not feel burdened by the long trophy drought, though he expects normal tension and nerves.
