Europe EV Sales Report: BEVs Jump 50% & Reach 26% Market Share!

European EV registrations in June surged as battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) jumped 50% year-over-year to 366,000 units, setting a new BEV record. Plug-in vehicles overall rose 41% YoY, while plug-in hybrids grew only 23%, pushing June’s plug-in share to 37%. BEVs accounted for 71% of all plug-in sales in June, with a yearly BEV average of 69%, the highest since 2012. Year-to-date, BEVs hold a 23% share, above the 2025 full-year results (20% BEV, 29% including PHEVs). The broader market grew 13% YoY to 1.4 million cars, with petrol down 12% to 21% share and diesel sliding to 6%.
