Rep. Marcy Kaptur hospitalized after car crash

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur was hospitalized after a car crash on Aug. 2, according to her spokesperson Ben Kamens. The congresswoman, a passenger in the vehicle, was on her way to a church service when the car was struck. Kamens said she is “active, alert and being treated for non-life threatening injuries.” Toledo news outlets reported the crash as a hit-and-run and said another person was also hospitalized, though it was not clear who that person was. The Toledo Police Department declined to confirm crash details. Kaptur’s office thanked Toledo police, first responders, and medical professionals and said she looks forward to returning to her full schedule soon.
